Designed for summer living, this two-volume house perfectly articulates Moskow Linn's design philosophy. Our attention to craft, details, choreography, and views combines to create a unique essay in coastal living. For this long, linear site, the view corridor was carved into the scrub oak forest to create an architectural feature. Two low-slung volumes are aligned with the angled property lines and face due south, picking up prevailing breezes. One volume contains three bedrooms, while the other houses a master bedroom and public spaces. A covered arcade connects the two, creating an outdoor room that steps down to the interior courtyard. Deep overhangs help with shading and cooling on hot summer days. Galvanized steel brackets and an expressed exoskeleton celebrate the humble local materials.
